About

Erik X. Raj is a practicing speech-language pathologist and a first time author, who recently completed his first children's book (to be published in 2010).


In addition to his love for children's literature, he also has a passion for independent film. Erik's early comedy based video productions, that targeted the 16-34 age demographic, have been featured on countless national and international media outlets, including MTV, MTV2, mtvU, CollegeHumor.com, NationalLampoon.com, and more.

Over the last 2 years, Erik has focused his creative energy towards children's educational media, ranging from television programming to internet based streaming web content. He is presently in the beginning stages of writing/producing his first children's program. Fueled by a unique and fresh sense of humor and combined with a strong background in childhood development, Erik's show will, without a doubt, be a nonstop rollercoaster ride of preschool and kindergarten fun!

Education

Erik received his Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Misericordia University (PA). He received his New Jersey State Speech-Language Specialist Certificate, as well as his Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Professional Certificate for Teaching Speech to Students with Language Impairments. Erik is presently a practicing speech-language pathologist in New Jersey where he is currently completing his Clinical Fellowship to obtain the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Anticipated January 2010).

Experience

Erik has provided direct patient care to pediatric, adolescent, and adult clients throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania who exhibit a broad spectrum of communication and swallowing disorders. Erik currently works as a speech-language pathologist for the Hamilton Township School District in New Jersey where he administers diagnostics and provides therapy to school-aged students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
